Ramón Mª Calduch is economist and lawyer, anthropologist specialized in medicine, president of the European Chamber of Commerce for TCM and vice-president of the advisors council of the World Federation of TCM with some deans of Chinese Universities of TCM. He is the vice-president of the European Foundation of TCM and of PEFOTS and has been awarded Doctor Honoris Causa by the Constantinian University. He is a member of the Organizing Committee of the World Symposium on TCM, Acupuncture and Moxibustion.

Dear colleagues and friends,
It is a pleasure for me to invite you to participate in the World Symposium on TCM, Acupuncture and Moxibustion which will be held the 22, 23 and 24 of June in the city of Tarragona (Spain).
This Symposium is the result of the collaboration of our Foundation with different institutions, between them there are the Chinese Government itself and other associations and organizations, both public and private, from different European countries.
The main aim of this World Symposium is to promote the Chinese Traditional Medicine, at national level and in the European frame, through its spreading, the introduction of new researches and the exchange of experiences and knowledge between professionals and experts of the sector.
It is foreseen that different European and Chinese leaders of TCM will attend the Symposium and that institutional meetings will be held, so that it will let the enforcement of the position of the TCM in Europe. As you will know, the regulation decree on the Natural Therapies has just been approved in Catalonia, it is a pioneer action in Europe, which will let the reinforcement of professionals that practice the non-conventional medicine, in benefit of the citizenship and of the profession. It is also planned that the Minister of Health of the Generalitat de Catalunya attends the Symposium, so she will be able to explain us the practical application of the aforementioned Decree.
In parallel sessions to the Symposium, it will be held the 1st Annual Session of Universities of TCM Studies, in which the most prestigious European and Chinese Universities will meet. This is a chance to establish our points in common and collaboration lines in teaching, research and publication.
In order to encourage your participation, I want to inform you that this Symposium is interdisciplinary, there will be more than 500 attendants, and it is held in a city (Tarragona) awarded as Human Heritage, with an excellent weather, taking into account that the dates of the Symposium coincide with the greatly celebrated Sant Joan Fiestas, characterized by the numerous fireworks. We will be enchanted not only to work on for the development of the TCM but to have the opportunity to show you some of our cultural aspects which will surely interest you.
So finally, the World Symposium means a great chance for you to meet people of your profession, with old acquaintances and study colleagues, with foreign colleagues,
withteachers and directors of Chinese and European institutions with whom you
canexchange visit cards and, therefore, open collaboration lines and personal
contacts, which can become very useful for your professional future.
Furthermore, in the Symposium there will also be stands carried by
Chinese and European TCM products manufacturers, so you will also
have the chance to be up-to-date of the last novelties of the sector.
